Barflies Can’t Capture Shootout, Loses 21-8 To Lippstadt Ochmoneks
Ten hits weren’t enough for Barflies as it lost a shootout, 21-8, to Lippstadt Ochmoneks on Saturday at Bochum.
Mats Busemann recorded the win for Lippstadt Ochmoneks even though he allowed five runs over eight innings. He struck out seven, walked four and surrendered eight hits.
Lippstadt Ochmoneks easily handled Barflies pitching as six hitters combined for nine hits, 13 RBIs and 13 runs scored.
Christian Theis was the game’s losing pitcher. He allowed nine runs in eight innings, walked four and struck out six.
Lippstadt Ochmoneks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. A single by Patrick Cieplinski, bringing home F. Brune and Busemann started the inning off.
After a quick strike from Lippstadt Ochmoneks, Barflies responded with three runs in the first. Barflies scored on an error, a steal of home by Patrick Schulz, and an RBI single by Dmitri Artemjew.

Barflies Defeats Hagen Chipmunks 2 After Late Game Single, 9-7
Barflies and Hagen Chipmunks two passed the lead back and forth five times on Sunday at Bochum, but in the end Barflies pulled out a 9-7 win in seven innings over Hagen Chipmunks two.
Barflies pulled out the win thanks to a strong sixth inning. Barflies scored on an RBI single by Patrick Schulz off M Pengen, scoring Sang Hyun Cho.
Raaaul Barroso reached base three times. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the third inning.
Christian Theis recorded the win for Barflies even though he allowed seven runs over seven innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered eight hits.
Pengen took the loss for Hagen Chipmunks two. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
The top of the first saw Hagen Chipmunks two take an early lead, 3-0. Julian Sarasa got things going for Hagen Chipmunks two with a single. A stolen base then moved Sarasa from first to second. B Balk singled, bringing home Sarasa. Hagen Chipmunks two pushed more runs across when Pengen and Balk scored on a two-run error.
Hagen Chipmunks two brought home one run in the third inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the third, Hagen Chipmunks two scored on a groundout by Marc Vogler, plating P Balk.
Barflies didn’t give up the lead after the sixth inning. Additional runs came from a groundout by Ilia Sinev and a two-run single by Cho.

Offenses Dominate As Barflies Outscores Herne Lizards 23-11
Scoreboard operators were busy at Herne on Sunday as Barflies and Herne Lizards combined for 34 runs. Barflies eventually won the offensive battle 23-11 in seven innings.
There were 27 hits, including seven extra base hits in the game.
Barflies beat Herne Lizards thanks to 19 hits, including five extra base hits. Barflies scored eight runs in the third on Barflies scored in the third on an RBI single by Tobias Froning, a groundout by Jonas Kaufmann, an RBI single by Fabio Novali, a two-run single by Patrick Schulz, a wild pitch, and a two-run error.
Andreas Laudien racked up four RBIs on three hits for Barflies. He homered in the fourth inning, singled in the fourth inning, and doubled in the sixth inning.
Even though Christian Theis allowed nine runs over five innings he still recorded the victory. He struck out six, walked six and surrendered six hits.
Barflies easily handled Herne Lizards pitching as eight hitters combined for 18 hits, 19 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
Cedric Weidner couldn’t get it done on the mound for Herne Lizards, taking a loss. He allowed 10 runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked five and struck out one.
The top of the second saw Herne Lizards take an early lead, 6-0. M Jarocki kicked things off for Herne Lizards with a single. Herne Lizards then tacked on more runs when Schreiner scored on an RBI single by Jarocki, Jarocki scored on an error, Schlemminger scored on an RBI single by Arne Ulrich, Ulrich scored on an error, and Dudel scored on an RBI single by Dennis Raethel.
Barflies added seven more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Laudien kicked things off with a solo home run. That was followed up by Sang Hyun Cho’s single, bringing home Novali.
Barflies answered Herne Lizards‘ top inning with five runs of its own in the sixth. Barflies scored on an RBI double by Laudien, an RBI single by Cho, an RBI single by Schulz, and a two-run single by Ilia Sinev.
