As another exciting baseball season comes to a close, we look back with pride and gratitude at everything the Barflies achieved in 2025. From clutch performances on the field to the countless hours of dedication behind the scenes, this team once again proved that the Barflies spirit is about more than just baseball — it’s about family, growth, and having fun along the way.
This year’s Barflies Awards celebrated both excellence and character, honoring the players and volunteers who made a difference throughout the season.
🏆 Major Awards

Our Most Valuable Player stood tall on the mound all year long. With calm confidence and strong pitching performances, Christian set the tone for the team and delivered in key moments again and again.
🤝 Players’ Choice Award – Adrian
Chosen by his teammates for his impact on and off the field, Adrian embodies what it means to be a true Barfly — reliable, positive, and a leader in every sense.
⚡ Lifetime Achievement – Michael
A huge milestone this season: Michael reached 100 stolen bases! His hustle and consistency continue to inspire everyone around him.
🧢 Coach of the Year – Peter
Guiding the team with passion and precision, Peter kept everyone focused while never losing sight of why we play the game — to learn, compete, and enjoy the journey.
🕯️ Kerzenkönig – Shinsuke
A long-standing Barfly tradition — awarded to the player responsible for the most outs by fly balls. This year, Shinsuke earned the candlelight crown!
💪 Rookie of the Year – Jacky
From his first day of practice to his strong finish at the end of the season, Jacky showed remarkable dedication, perfect attendance, and continuous improvement.
🎖️ Coaches’ Award – Ben (Youth Team)
A very special recognition this year goes to Ben, our first-ever youth player. From day one, he showed the enthusiasm and attitude that confirmed we were building something meaningful. Now, as he graduates from the U12 to the U15 team, we couldn’t be prouder of his growth and example.
🎨 Fun & Specialty Awards
Because baseball is about joy, creativity, and community, we also keep up our lighter side with some of the Barflies’ favorite traditions:
- 🎨 Picasso – Carina: For literally painting the perfect bunt down the line.
- 🧭 GPS – Huo: Outfielder of the Year — no fly ball was safe!
- 🍺 Bar-Fly – Ilia: Home run champion of the season and winner of the Longest Drive Contest, narrowly edging out Chris in a thrilling finish.
- 😎 0-for-Swagger – Benjamin: For keeping his head high and his energy up, no matter the count.
- 🥷 Daytime Ninja – Adrian: Most stolen bases — silent but unstoppable.
- 🚫 Shutdown Specialist – Stephan: Ice-cold closer who sealed the wins when it mattered most.
- 💥 Kamikaze – Hugo: Fearless baserunning — sometimes genius, sometimes… let’s say “memorable.”
- 🍔 Kitchen Chaos – Marco: Our behind-the-scenes hero who kept the food and hospitality running smoothly all season.
- 🎶 Soundtrack Hero – Daniel: The man behind the music and media, always improving the game-day atmosphere.
- ⚾ Assistant Coaches – Metin & Adrian: For their invaluable help with youth training, school programs, and game-day coaching.
💥 Longest Drive Contest
One of our favorite traditions returned this year — the Longest Drive Contest. It was a close race between Chris and Ilia, but Ilia managed to edge ahead to claim the title for 2025.
💛 A Season to Remember
From our senior players to our youngest talents, from volunteers to fans — every Barfly played a part in making this year special. The growth of our youth program, the energy at every home game, and the continued sense of community remind us that we’re on the right path.
Thank you to everyone who supported, cheered, cooked, coached, filmed, and played their hearts out this season. Here’s to 2026 — more baseball, more smiles, and more reasons to say: Go Barflies! 🧡⚾
